FELTOM is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievement of Ms Maria Mifsud from Alpha School of English, who has been named Tourism Worker of the Year for the English Language Learning (ELT) sector at the 2025 Malta Tourism Awards.

During this year’s AGM, three Board member seats were up for renewal: Ms Patricia Marshall, Mr Simon Mifsud, and Mr Daniel Mangani. FELTOM is delighted to confirm that all three members have reaffirmed their commitment to the Federation and its mission.

ICEF has launched a new destination-focused certification programme, the Malta Agent Training Course (MATC), in partnership with the Federation of English Language Teaching Organisations Malta (FELTOM), via its professional training arm, ICEF Academy.

March has been an important month for FELTOM, marking key developments in the English Language Teaching (ELT) sector in Malta. With a continued focus on quality and sustainability, FELTOM remains committed to strengthening the country’s position as a recognised destination for English language learners.

In 2024, Paceville and St Julian’s achieved a significant milestone, becoming the first destination in Malta, Southern Europe, and the Mediterranean to earn the prestigious Purple Flag status. This global recognition, awarded by the Association of Town and City Management (ATCM), is a mark of excellence that only around 100 cities and towns worldwide have attained.

Since its establishment in 1989, the Federation of English Language Teaching Organisations Malta (FELTOM) has transformed the landscape of English language education in Malta. As we celebrated our 35th anniversary last December, we also had the opportunity to reflect on the journey that has made FELTOM the cornerstone of Malta’s ELT sector.

As we approach the close of 2024, FELTOM would like to take a moment to extend our warmest wishes to our esteemed industry partners and all of our member schools. This festive season is a time for celebration, reflection, and looking ahead, and we are truly grateful for the continued support, collaboration, and success we have experienced together throughout the year.
