We’re excited to announce the launch of FLIGHT – Fostering Learning and Innovation in Global High-Flying Training, a new Erasmus+ KA210-VET project lead by FELTOM in partnership with the Bulgarian Air Force Academy (BAFA).
Running from 1st September 2025 to 28th February 2027, this collaboration focuses on enhancing the quality of aviation English teaching, supporting teacher upskilling, and strengthening cooperation between educational institutions and industry.
The FLIGHT project is designed to promote innovation in vocational education and training, empower teachers and students with digital and pedagogical skills, and foster international collaboration within the English Language Teaching (ELT) sector.
Key Activities:
- Dissemination & Communication (2025 – 2027)
Development of a dedicated project website and online training portal, active social media engagement, bi-annual newsletters, promotional brochures, and webinars aimed at sharing knowledge and connecting stakeholders.
- Transnational Partner Event – Bulgaria (October 2025)
A FELTOM delegation will visit BAFA for joint workshops, needs analysis surveys, and cultural exchange activities. The event will help identify key challenges in aviation English teaching and explore solutions through collaboration.
- Transnational Partner Meeting – Malta (October 2026)
BAFA representatives will visit FELTOM and its member schools in Malta. The meeting will include stakeholder discussions with ELT institutions, authorities, and industry experts, alongside educational and cultural activities showcasing Malta’s rich heritage.
- Feedback & Evaluation (2026-2027)
Feedback will be collected from teachers, trainers, students, and stakeholders to evaluate the pilot aviation English course. The final report will include recommendations to further enhance training quality and employability opportunities in the field.
Objectives & Impact:
- Identify needs, gaps and challenges in aviation English teaching.
- Strengthen digital readiness and teaching quality across the ELT sector.
- Upskill teachers and support low-skilled educators to meet labour market demands.
- Foster international collaboration, innovation, and intercultural understanding.
- Build stronger connections between education and the aviation industry.
