CPD Training Workshop for Accreditation Officers


Who should attend?

The course is aimed at new Accreditation Officers and any member of staff involved in or interested in quality assurance, or those who would like a refresher of the general understanding of the FELTOM Accreditation Scheme. As per Chapter 3; Art. 1.3.1, the course will introduce delegates to the process of the FELTOM Accreditation Scheme and its function as a system for demonstrating competence in the ELT sector and to gain an understanding of the FELTOM inspection methodology including application process, internal audits and documentation involved.

Trainers:

Jason Aquilina graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree with Honours in biology and chemistry. This was followed by a Master of Arts degree in Islands and Small State Studies in the areas of environment and international relations. He has also obtained a Post Graduate Certificate in Vocational Education and Training. Jason is currently employed with the University of Malta where he lectures in biology at the Junior College. This follows previous employment as lead verifier and lecturer at MCAST. His career started as a scientist with what was then, the Malta Standards Authority (now MCCAA) in the fields of certification and accreditation. Jason has been involved with FELTOM since the inception of the accreditation scheme in 2006. He has led inspections in various EFL schools. As of 2013, he acts as chairman of the Accreditation Council of FELTOM and has been actively involved in administering and developing the accreditation scheme.

James Perry joined FELTOM in November 2017, as Chief Executive Officer. Occupying the position of Executive Director at The Archbishop’s Seminary for the previous three years and two years as an Accreditation Officer/Trainer for NCFHE prior to that. Along with many years in Sales and Marketing, James moved into Teaching and Training for four years, as Deputy Director/Acting Director at The Institute of Tourism Studies, before his position at NCFHE. James also sits on the EFL Monitoring Board, Chamber of Commerce.

Julie Davis  has been working with FELTOM since May 2017 and heads up Accreditation, Media Management as well as managing the FELTOM Office. Julie spent over 25 years in the Advertising and Marketing Industry, before relocating to Malta in December 2015. Her last position in South Africa was head of Production in an Advertising Agency, where she was in the process of taking up the role of Operations Manager.
